Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Coaster Coming to Universal Orlando in 2027
Share
Start your engines… and prepare for a new kind of thrill. Universal Orlando Resort just announced a brand-new high-octane coaster that will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit — and it’s going to be wild.
Get ready for “Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift”, a high-speed, 360‑degree drifting roller coaster coming in 2027 to Universal Studios Florida. Whether you’re a thrill seeker, a Fast & Furious fan, or just missing Rip Ride Rockit already — this ride is going to be a major upgrade.
🚧 What’s Replacing Rip Ride Rockit?
After a long and iconic run, Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit closed in August 2025, and Universal has already been working fast behind the scenes to build something bigger, faster, and drift-ier.
Now we know why: it’s all for Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a ride that will launch guests into hairpin turns, vertical spikes, and 360-degree maneuvers inspired by the blockbuster film franchise.
This ride will take over the former Rip Ride Rockit space, but the thrills are being upgraded dramatically.
🔥 Ride Features That’ll Blow You Away
Here’s what Universal has confirmed about the ride experience so far:
🌀 360-Degree Drifting – YES, the coaster cars will drift around the track
🚀 170-Foot Vertical Spike – Riders will be launched nearly 17 stories in the air
🏙️ High-Speed Stunts Over CityWalk – Expect jaw-dropping views and maneuvers
🎬 Inspired by Fast & Furious Films – Themed to the high-stakes world of Dom & the crew
Basically… it’s street racing meets roller coaster, and it’s going to be next-level immersive.
📅 When Does It Open?
🎢 Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is currently under construction and will open in 2027 at Universal Studios Florida.
🚧 Construction walls are already up — you may even see the progress on your next visit!
🌎 A sister ride is also opening at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026, but Orlando’s version will take it to the next level with unique layout and added thrills.
💡 Fun Fact
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will open at Universal Studios Florida in 2027 — and at the same time, Fast & Furious – Supercharged will officially close, making way for a brand‑new era of high‑octane thrills.
That means Hollywood Drift becomes the flagship Fast & Furious ride at Universal Orlando.
